Navakholo MP Emmanuel Wangwe has dismissed opposition alliance NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga's campaign team, saying it is of no significance.
In an interview with The Star Newspaper on Monday, the legislator singled out Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya's role as the NASA coordinator in Western Kenya, observing that Oparanya has no political clout that can pitch a serious campaign in the region.
“It is interesting that Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya is coordinating the campaigns in Western, where he has some of his fiercest rivals. How is he going to work with Boni Khalwale, with whom he does not see eye-to-eye?” the lawmaker posed.
“Oparanya will definitely coordinate ODM campaigns and not those of NASA. This is because he is under intense pressure from Khalwale, who wants to unseat him," he added.
Amani National Congress Leader Musalia Mudavadi is expected to coordinate NASA's national activities.
Former Cord head of the Cord secretariat Norman Magaya will head the campaign's Secretariat.
