Realignments ahead of 2022 polls continues to take shape Deputy President William Ruto continues to invade Raila Odinga's strongholds.
Recently, a Nyamira MP said said that among top strategies of the DP is to seize Gusii region from ODM party with a total voting population of 800,000.
"Nyanza is going to be one of his top targets. We shall see more of his trips to the region," said South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro.
Having brought on board several MPs from both Nyamira and Kisii Counties, Ruto's main headache however, is to reach county leadership.
And even before their meeting at Karen, Governor James Ongwae and his deputy Joash Maangi, who played a critical role in NASA campaigns, have been on the DP's list.
"We shall eventually reach all of them and ensure nobody is left out. They must join the train," Osoro had said.
On Tuesday, Ruto held a lengthy meeting between the duo which lasted for at least five hours leading to online speculations.
While Raila Odinga remains silent on his 2022 plan, Ongwae will be retiring from his gubernatorial seat thus a possibility of plunging into national politics.
