Ex-Kitutu Masaba MP Abuya Abuya now says veteran politician Raila Odinga should contemplate retiring after 'incredible' service to the country.
With Uhuru Kenyatta having taken oath of office, Raila has found himself at precarious position following his decision to boycott Presidential repeat poll.
"He is a man I respect a lot but I think time has come for him to hang boots. We have been in struggle and I know how it feels when things don't change as much," he told the reporter.
At 80s, Odinga and Abuya were once considered threat to KANU regime and served in detention in separate periods.
To leave behind unquestionable legacy, Abuya says, Odinga should pass the mantle to other young politicians to complete what he started.
"Our major concern was new constitution which we have since achieved. It may not be perfect but I think he has left an indelible mark in Kenyan politics," he added.
According to him, Odinga's time in struggle will be recognized across the world adding that the use of force by police in handling opposition demonstrators could taint Odinga's legacy.
Steering the agenda, he further says, young NASA politicians should strengthen the movement for radical changes.
