The fruits of their political deal has also seen a good number of politicians in Raila's political axis bounce back with key government jobs. However, others are still languishing in the political cold.

Former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo who lost to Elisha Odhiambo is still in the cold. A key ally of Raila, Midiwo was not a beneficiary of the most recent appointments that saw veteran Nyanza politicians given a political lifeline. Will his time come?

After losing in his quest to dislodge Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga, former Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo has been operating in the political periphery. So, will the handshake save the once powerful ODM MP that fought his way to become chairman of the crucial Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee?

Then there is former Muhoroni MP Prof. Ayiecho Olweny, a key Raila ally and ODM Kisumu chairman. Will he be lucky this time round now that the handshake is working 'miracles'? Time will tell.
