Ms Irene Mayaka, the ring leader of Daughter's of Raila movement, will yet again have to stay in cold for a while until a case challenging her nomination to Nyamira Assembly is determined.

A fortnight ago, a Nyamira court instructed the county clerk to 'immediately' swear her in to represent the ODM party, after the petitioner, Damaris Mouni had her petition dismissed.

So complicated the situation is, that the two ladies have taken oath as ODM official representatives in the country assembly.

In the detailed judgment, the Magistrate had observed that Mouni was irregularly nominated to the assembly thus stripping her off the privileges in favour of Mayaka.

But barely a week in the assembly, Kisii High Court Judge Joseph Karanja, issued Mouni with temporary orders restraining Ms Mayaka from transacting businesses in the assembly.

"Yes, I have received the order of restraining me from attending assembly this morning," said Ms Mayaka.

She added: "I will continue pushing so that I get what was envisaged by the ODM party. We can't allow strangers to represent us."

With the ODM party disowning Mouni on grounds that she had sneaked her name irregularly, the battle now seems far from over.
