After a tiring campaign in the last few months, it was time for NASA presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga to relax, and he chose the best way possible, spending some time out on Sunday with his grandchildren.

After the closure of campaigns on Sunday, Odinga was spotted at the Hub Shopping Mall in Karen, where he mingled with the public.

He thanked Kenyans for welcoming the NASA coalition, and exuded confidence that they will make the next government.

He said he had spent some time in the CBD with some of his chief campaigners and was happy that August 8 the day most waited for was just around the corner.

“Today woke up feeling so happy. Spent some time with pastors and religious leaders at my home where they prayed for me and my family and later decided to hang out with some of my campaigners in town,” Raila said.

“I am here at the Hub Karen with my grandchildren just chilling and having fun. We are happy for all that has happened and waiting for Kenyans to decide next week,” he said.

He further called on all Kenyans to maintain peace, but took issue with the government, whom he accused of using state machinery to frustrate and intimidate the opposition.

He further promised Kenyans that he will accept honorably if he loses to President Kenyatta in an open and freeway.

“Mimi kile kime baki ni kupiga kura tu na hio sio kazi ngumu. Kwa bahati mbaya nikishindwa basi asiye kubali kushindwa sio mshindani,” he said as quoted by the Star Newspaper.

He also sought to promise the country that there will not be violence, and that he believes Kenyans learnt from the 2007 post-election violence.

"I want to appeal to all Kenyans to come out in large numbers and vote. As you vote either for me or my brother Uhuru Kenyatta I wish all of you all the best and pray that the election will be free, fair and credible," Raila said.
