A group of legislators from Nyandarua have claimed that ODM leader Raila Odinga is being insincere in his fight against corruption in the country.
Speaking on Tuesday during the burial of the mother to Rurii Ward MCA Wahome Kamoche, the leaders said that Raila's main aim was to tarnish the government's image in order to gain political mileage as 2017 approaches.
The leaders, led by Nyandarua Women Representative Wanjiku Muhia and Ol-Kalou MP David Njuguna Kiaraho, who have rubbished Raila's recent attack on the government especially on the grounds of corruption.
"Raila should let investigations take place instead of attacking the government without possessing any evidence. Raila is trying to gain political mileage against the government and this means that his fight against corruption is insincere," said Wanjiku.
The leaders however accepted that there have been cases of corruption in the government, but called on leaders to avoid politicizing the cases.
The recent Afya House sparked national outcry after it was alleged that the taxpayers' money amounting to Sh5bn had been embezzled. This comes even before the NYS scandal is investigated efficiently and effectively and the culprits jailed.
