NASA leader Raila Odinga has insisted that he will go on with his plans to be sworn in as the president and that no one will stop him.
The opposition leader, who was speaking on Sunday evening in Kikambala, Kilifi said his push to be sworn in will not stop at anything.
“I am going to carry the Bible. Nobody will stop me from carrying the Bible,” Raila said.
“It is better to stand up for the truth and die for something than die for nothing,” he added.
Odinga spoke when he officiated the first Coast region People’s Assembly meeting, as his team pushes on for electoral and constitutional reforms.
Attorney General Githu Muigai had warned that if he, Odinga, tries to swear himself in, would be committing high treason, an offense punished by death.
Odinga has however insisted that their quest to have the people’s assembly in all counties was only but the beginning of fighting for justice.
"We will progress until we get electoral justice. We will ensure that ultimately, the winner is declared the winner."
The NASA team canceled a swearing-in ceremony that was planned for October 12, when the country celebrated Jamhuri Day.
President Uhuru Kenyatta during the opening of the governors’ forum in Kilifi said he will not tolerate anyone trying to divide the country on such lines.
