NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga has been accused of endorsing the weakest candidate in Machakos, Wiper stronghold.
The former Prime Minister endorsed Wiper’s Patrick Makau for Mavoko parliamentary slot and urged his party aspirant Michael Mutuku to support Makau.
The ODM MP hopeful has termed the move as unfair and promised to win come August 8.
“Raila ought to have inquired from locals their preferred candidate for the Mavoko parliamentary seat before making such an announcement. He endorsed the weakest candidate for the position,” said Mutuku.
Speaking in Athi River, Mutuku said that Raila got it wrong by endorsing Makau. He said this was uncharacteristic of Odinga whop is the modern icon of democracy. According to Mutuku, the will of Mavoko voters will prevail in the coming parliamentary contest between Wiper and ODM.
“My party leader is a democrat; he should have not done that as a role model. He has undermined the supreme will of the people,” the aspirant said.
