The National Super Alliance (NASA) seems not to be reading from the same script after a Monday revelation by Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo exposed lack of unity of purpose among its MPs.
Speaking after losing the National Assembly's Public Accounts Committee chairman's seat, Amollo blamed counterparts including NASA MPs for bowing in to betrayal and working with cartels to sabotage his candidature.
He raised his frustration after his fellow NASA legislator Opiyo Wandayi of Ugunja was elected to the seat.Wandayi garnered 15 votes while Amollo got no single vote.
Amollo took to Twitter to vent out his frustrations and said there was no reason why MPs, including his NASA colleagues, could not vote him even after he demonstrated accountability.
"As first Ombudsman, I did all I could to hold Government accountable. I had hoped to do so in Parliament as Chair of Parliamentary Accounts Committee, but the Cartels wouldn’t allow," he said on Monday.
"One day, Parliament will serve the People!" he added.
