Speaking on Radio Jambo Saturday, Weke noted that the efforts are promising, saying that with consistency, the President can put an end to the recurrent scandals in state bodies.

He urged Kenyans to be patient as the head of state spearheads the campaign, proposing more time for him and stating that he should be allocated another term should the available duration prove insufficient.

''Rais anafanya kazi njema na anahitaji muda zaidi amalize. Kama ataendelea hivi, hata akihitaji muhula mwingine itafaa apewe ili amalizie kazi (the President is doing a good job but needs more time to complete it. If he continues like this, he will be justified for another term to finish the job),'' he said.

With the 2022 presidential succession debate creeping in, with hopefuls and their allies warming up for the contest, Weke advised the President to avoid the issue and concentrate on service delivery for better results.

''Asijishughulishe na maneno ya 2022 kwa sababu ile legacy wakenya wanataka awache ni ya kumaliza ufisadi (he should avoid involvement in the 2022 debate and work towards leaving a legacy of fighting off the graft menace),'' added the commentator.

In line with the vow, Uhuru has since sacked several Principal Secretaries and ordered a fresh vetting of all government accountants.
