ODM party leader Raila Odinga will be in Waondo, Homa Bay on Sunday where he will preside over the late Homa Bay Senator Otieno Kajwang's memorial.
He will lead a host of opposition politicians at the event expected to be punctuated with high-voltage politics.
Among those expected at the event is fire-spitting Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Kakamega's Wycliffe Oparanya.
The late Kajwang was one of Mr Odinga's closest allies in the Orange party.
Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang told the press the event will all be political despite warning from area County Commissioner Kassim Farrah that politics will not be allowed during the memorial.
Kajwang died on November 18, 2014 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
“On arrival on Sunday (today), Mr Odinga will lay a wreath at the late Senator’s mausoleum before proceeding to lay a foundation stone for the construction of the late Otieno Kajwang’ Technical Training Institute,” he said as quoted by Daily Nation.
One of the key things Raila will be expected to talk about during the celebration is the yet-to-be-launched National Super Alliance that expected to bring together Mr Odinga, Wiper's Kalonzo Musyoka, Ford Kenya's Moses Wetangula and Kanu's Gideon Moi.
Also to feature in the event will be a brief on the level of talks with regard to the opposition's preparations for the 2017 elections.
Kajwang said the event will also be used to drum up for voter registration which has been slow in Cord strongholds.
On Wednesday County Commissioner Kassim said politicians who will engage in politic during the event will be dealt with.
