National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential torchbearer Raila Amolo Odinga has said that opposition will continue holding weekly protests across the county until Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) CEO Ezra Chiloba and other officials quit.

Raila, who is taking a fourth stab at the nation’s top seat, has maintained that he will not take part in the election unless Chiloba and other officials of the commission believed to have interfered with the elections in August resign. The former Prime Minister has said he will not tire until his demands are met.

“Those protests shall, therefore, continue across the country every Monday and Friday in accordance with the law,” said the former Prime Minister, as quoted by Nation.

The opposition leader also condemned the police for allegedly using excessive force to disperse NASA supporters. This comes after the closure of University of Nairobi following the invasion of police officers who allegedly mishandled the students.

“The police have unleashed brutal force against innocent civilians including young university students. Using thugs in police uniform to invade a university and beat students, and even stripping some of them naked in their halls of residence is the heart of darkness and impunity,” he said.
