National Super Alliance (NASA) Leader Raila Amolo Odinga has maintained that he is not ready to take part in the fresh elections if the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) does not meet his conditions.

Raila, a former prime minister, has been calling for the resignation of top officials from the commission before the election can be conducted. The opposition leader has insisted that he is only prepared to be part of a free and fair exercise and nothing less.

“As NASA coalition, we have set irreducible minimums that must be met in order for the elections to take place,” he said, as quoted by Tuko.co.ke

In the meantime, IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati has maintained that he will not resign. Wafula said that the Supreme Court did not find him of wrongdoing.

"No, I am not resigning, as of now I listened to the Supreme Court Judges and didn’t hear anything about the chairman," said Chebukati, as quoted by Standard.

He also called the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) under the stewardship of Keriako Tobiko to probe any officer linked to election malpractices.

"The Commission invites the DPP to prosecute any of our officers who were involved in breaching the law," he stated.
