The former prime minister said that the community has a chance to be part of the ruling government.
He, however, reminded the community that the only way to join the government is turning out in large numbers in order to vote for him during the election date.
“This year’s elections provide an opportunity to the Kamba community, in particular, to rise to the occasion and realize that such an opportune moment will not knock your door again in the lifetime of the current political dispensation,” said the NASA leader, as quoted by Standard.
Kalonzo asked the residents to back candidates aligned to Wiper in the August polls so that they can increase his bargaining power once the opposition takes over.
He said that it will be unfortunate for the opposition to form the government only to realize Wiper lacks numbers in parliament.
“It will be comical if my party candidates will not win in their respective seats in my own political base. It will appear like being at the top (Presidency) while putting on a trouser without suruali ya ndani (undergarment)! ” he said.
