Raila said that nomination losers are still needed, saying that NASA will accommodate them if it forms government in August.

He stated that NASA will lose popularity if nomination losers decamp to opponent parties or run as independent candidates.

“I am appealing to all those who lost in party nominations to remain in NASA and help us send Jubilee government home in August,” he said as quoted by the Daily Nation.

Raila also asked politicians who lost fairly in the nominations to concede defeat and support those who clinched tickets.

He lauded NASA affiliate parties for conducting fair and peaceful polls. “Our party primaries were peaceful apart a few ugly incidents, these shows that our democratic space has grown,” he added.

Most of Raila Odinga’s close allies and confidants among them Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo lost in the recently concluded party nominations.

Meanwhile, Raila will be officially endorsed as ODM presidential flag bearer today by party delegates.

Raila was handed the NASA presidential ticket last week with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka as his running mate.

The Raila-Kalonzo line up continues to elicit reactions with some political analysts saying that it has no muscles to out Jubilee government from power.

The Kalonzo-Raila line up lost to UhuRuto in the 2013 general election.
