Former advisor to Raila Odinga Miguna Miguna has said that the NASA leader passed a great oppoutunity, after he allegedly refused to be ‘sworn in’ on Tuesday.

According to reports, during NASA’s meeting in Maanzoni Machakos, Raila turned down a proposal to have him sworn in as president, same day Uhuru Kenyatta will be sworn in at the Moi Kasarani Stadium.

According to Miguna, many other African leaders have done a similar thing, and that no one begs for power.

“This is Raila Odinga’s big mistake. In 2011, Allasane Quattara bravely staked out the presidency of Côte d’Ivoire. Gambian president, Adama Barrow did the same in January, 2017. No one begs for power,” said Miguna as quoted by Citizen.

The now turned political ally of Odinga was once a critic of the former premier, whom they worked together before they parted ways.

After turning down the swearing in ceremony that was to be done at the Uhuru Park grounds, the NASA brigade decided that they will head to Jacaranda grounds, where they will gather to pay tribute to their supporters who died a week ago.

However, the police have insisted that their gathering is illegal, and that all attending will be dealt with by the law.
