NASA presidential candidate, Raila Amolo Odinga, is expected to move fast to quell the political differences between Kitui incumbent Governor Dr. Julius Malombe and Narc Leader Charity Kaluki Ngilu.

Raila, who is contesting for The Presidency for his fourth time, stands to lose the support of the region with less than a month to the August polls. Malombe and Ngilu have differed over the styles of leadership.

The differences between the two leaders have made it tough for Raila and Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, now Deputy President.

Ngilu’s campaign secretariat spokesman Martin Masai has said that Raila and Kalonzo have not been supportive of her since she announced her candidature for the gubernatorial seat.

“We have been campaigning for NASA to take over the government, but there has been no reciprocity from Raila and Kalonzo. We feel that one of the NASA principals is not comfortable bringing campaigns here in Kitui,” said Masai, as quoted by Standard.

Maasai also defended Ngilu’s move to join Kalonzo during his campaigns for NASA. The appearance of Ngilu at a NASA rally elicited mixed reactions.

Kalonzo has since endorsed Malombe for the seat. Senator David Musila has also expressed interest in the seat after leaving Wiper on grounds of frustration.
