And hours after condemning the US for allegedly sabotaging democracy in Kenya, Raila's night would be ruined by tragic news of Morgan Tsvangirai's death.

The Ex-Zimbabwe Prime Minister, is arguably one of finest pro-democracy crusader, who shares similar tribulations with Raila in their long journey for fighting against establishments.

In a statement the following day, Raila described Tsvangirai's lost as 'tragic and disturbing' further narrating his unforgettable contributions to fight for democracy.

But barely hours after Tsvangirai's death, Raila's hope would be rekindled following resignation of South Africa's president Jacob Zuma.

Automatically, following the resignation, Raila's business partner and fellow comrade in fighting for democracy, Cyril Ramaphosa would take over by the virtue of being deputy president.

On Thursday, the ODM leader first issued the statement on passing on of Tsvangirai which was wrapped up by another congratulatory note to Ramaphosa.

Both Tsvangirai and Ramaphosa have closely followed Raila's foot path in political scene and at one point, Tsvangirai described him as 'hope of Africa' in a rally at Harare.
