Jubilee Party secretary general Raphael Tuju was forced to brave a hostile crowd in his Rarienda constituency after he said Raila Odinga's January 30 swearing in was a mockery.
Tuju was in Rarienda to attend the burial of former ambassador Rateng' Ogego's mother when mourners heckled him after his utterances.
"When I was a kid I used to play Kalongolongo. Now that I have grown up, you don't expect me to play the same game. The swearing in was like a Kalongolongo," Tuju said.
Kalongolongo is a children's cooking game usually played in the rural areas.
Tuju, who has been nominated to the cabinet, is President Uhuru Kenyatta's ally earning him the tag of a 'traitor' in his Luo backyard.
In Kenya, where the main tool for politics is ethnic mobilisation, those who do not 'worship' their tribal chieftains are always seen as 'taritors'.
This also applies to the likes of David Ndii and Jimmy Wanjigi - Kikuyus who have gone against the majority of their tribe and thrown their weight behind Raila, a Luo.
