On Sunday, Arati took 'oath' despite rebellion from a section of area leaders and Council of Elders.

Buth through National Vice Chair Janet Ong'era, the party insisted Arati was within confines of the community's traditions to push for top leadership.

"There nothing wrong with a young being pushed to lead the margainalised community. Those opposing him have not given alternatives," she said.

Ong'era, a one time ODM Chief Executive added: "The party fully supports him and we wish that he grows politically for his future endeavors."

Among those who have openly criticised Arati include his Kitutu Chache South counterpart Richard Onyonka and a host of Jubilee MPs.

While the post may have no immediate benefits, Arati may have however used it to introduce himself to national politics at a high level.
