ODM party leader Raila Odinga has asked ODM and NASA supporters at large not to see him as an enemy.
Odinga speaking on Friday evening at Mosocho area Kitutu Chache South in Kisii County during the burial of Professor Tumbo Oeri said he should be trusted after he met President Uhuru Kenyatta last week Friday.
“The meeting between me and Uhuru was not in bad faith because it only focused on uniting the nation. We never agreed that I will sell NASA or ODM supporters to Jubilee party. I will never betray the people who have been championing for democracy in this country. Supporters should not see me as an enemy,” he said.
He dismissed claims that he is self-centred only interested to get political mileage.
"I have not betrayed anyone to get political fame. All I want is peace in the country and the rest can follow. Kenya is big than Raila, Uhuru, Jubilee or NASA,” he added.
Raila urged opposition leaders not to sleep on their job to allow the Jubilee government to embezzle funds.
“All elected NASA MPs should focus on service delivery. They should keep watch on the government to ensure no money is wasted through dubious means for the sake of development in this nation,” he noted.
Raila said it is too early for politicians to start talking about 2022 politics yet they have not performed in this term.
“It is worrying that some politicians are talking about 2022 yet they haven’t even performed this term. I challenge them to first deliver in the next five years before they start opening their mouths about 2022 politics,” said Raila.
