The meeting between NASA leader Raila Odinga and president Uhuru Kenyatta have proved that indeed, there are no permanent political enemies.
This is because a number of Raila’s political enemies have come out to congratulate him after the unity meeting.
Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria. Kuria has been accused of hate speech while attacking Raila and even promised to arrest him if the IG could not. However, the legislator went ahead to congratulate the two leaders.“The most immediate benefit of the détente between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Hon Raila Odinga is that we can now sit down and agree on the constitutional and legal changes to fix some of our most malignant problems,” said Kuria after the meeting.
Deputy President William Ruto.Usually refer to Hon. Odinga as jamaa wa vitendawili, however, this time Raila was not a Riddler but a stateman.“Congratulation PRES. UHURU & RAILA for being statemen. You have risen to the moment for Kenya and against hate, negative ethnicity and division,” said Ruto.
Political Analyst Mutahi Ngunyi. Professor Ngunyi has always been against Raila Odinga and made many YouTube clips to attack him.Contrarily, this time he defended his saying, “I have not defended Raila for three years now but today I have no choice. Those attacking him for meeting Uhuru are political vultures and we know them. They have hovered over Raila’s head waiting for him to die politically so that they can feed on his carcass.”
Majority leader in Parliament Hon Aden Duale. The common phrase, Hii pesa si ya mama yako, was from Duale to Raila during the NYS scandals. However, Raila got it right after meeting with Uhuru in promoting national reconciliation, according to Duale.
Kipchumba Murkomen, Elgeyo Marakwet County senator. The senator has been attacking NASA leader but this time, it was right to give credit where it is worth.“I congratulate President Kenyatta and Hon. Raila Odinga for coming together to work towards a more united Kenya,” said Murkomen.
