Former Prime Minister, Raila Amolo Odinga has assured the Kamba community that he will back one of their own, Wiper Party Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, as he seeks to ascend to power in 2022.
Speaking during the launch of people’s assembly in Machakos, the former prime minister said that he has no intentions of shortchanging Kalonzo, who has hinted at contesting at the nation’s top seat when that time comes.
The Luo political kingpin warned leaders who are speculating that he will contest for the seat, adding that he will not betray Kalonzo as alleged by a section of leaders.
“We are talking about our win in August 8, (Governor) Professor Kibwana has asked me to concentrate on 2022, Professor, please, we killed an antelope in August 2017… we want to get it, slaughter and feed Kenyans first. The one that is in the wild, 2022, we will help Kalonzo to hunt and catch it. Let us finish with issues of 2017 first,” he said.
The opposition leader also said that other NASA principals including Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula will stand with Kalonzo until he becomes the head of state. “Kalonzo, Raila and Wetangula will stand as one, we are not going anywhere,” he added.
