The curtains are finally falling on Raila Odinga’s political career and the veteran politician will nolonger remain politically relevant.
These are the words of National Assembly Leader of Majority Aden Duale.
In an opinion piece he wrote with the Standard on Sunday, Duale argued that by boycotting the elections, Raila was in simple terms saying he had surrendered the political battle.
He said that Raila did not have any options especially after the Supreme Court nullified that August 8 elections.
"Evidently, the ruling gave him a political lifeline which he is tenuously clinging onto for political survival. But however much he clutches onto this ruling, the fact is that his political career is on the verge of coming to a halt," Duale said.
"He may misuse jobless youths by bringing them to the streets to protest for so long as he wants. He may boycott as many elections as he wants, but the truth is retirement is beckoning on him," he added.
