National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has said that National Super Alliance( NASA) Presidential candidate, Raila Odinga's days in the political arena are numbered.
According to Duale, the opposition made a grave mistake to drop from the fresh election following the nullification of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto’s win.
In an opinion piece published on the Standard, Duale said that Raila, who was contesting for his fourth time, needs to prepare for political retirement.
“He may boycott as many elections as he wants, but the truth is retirement is beckoning on him. The charade by the Opposition will not alter the fact that democracy prevailed in the August 8 polls," he stated as quoted by the Local daily.
The Garissa lawmaker also said that the opposition was banking on votes from its stronghold but the leaders were left in deep shock when the outcome was announced.
The leader of the opposition has maintained that he will not take part in the rerun if his demands are not met. He wants the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC ) CEO Ezra Chiloba and other officials of the commission to leave office before the rerun can be conducted.
