ODM party leader Raila Odinga, on Monday issued a stern warning to members who are out to spearhead 2022 general election campaigns.
He said time was not ripe for 2022 campaigns since Kenyans had just come out of an election (2017) and that it is time to focus on development.
"Kenyans are tired of the type of politics that gives room for corruption. Kenyans should refuse to be distracted by politics of succession," he said.
Addressing party delegates during an ODM meeting in Mombasa, Odinga asked all ODM members to focus on President Uhuru Kenyatta's Big Four Agenda on affordable housing, manufacturing, food security and universal healthcare instead of politicking.
"Don't worry about those politicking now.. they will find themselves behind when the election period begins," he added.
Deputy Party Leader, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi and 2nd deputy party leader Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya are among top ODM leaders who have been talking about 2022.
The trio seek to vie for presidency.Odinga further asked Kenyans and all leaders to support his new-found love with Kenyatta, saying those opposing it were enemies of unity.
