The National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga is leaving nothing to chance in his bid to dislodge from power Jubilee Party candidate, President Uhuru Kenyatta.
With less than two weeks to the General Election, the opposition leader has moved to form a special team in his strongholds that will ensure near 100% voter turnout in the polls slated for early next month.
The team mandated with ensuring that all registered voters cast their ballot comprise of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party officials, religious leaders and leaders of various youth groups.
Party nominees for various political seats have also been tasked to ensure the former Prime Minister gets overwhelming support from his backyard.
Nyanza ODM presidential campaign team chairman Bob Madanji reported the team has already hit the ground running in Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay and Migori counties.
"We have already identified registered voters who need help to access polling stations within their respective wards and we are planning on how they will be transported to cast their votes," he said.
“This programme is being done all over the country where Raila is confident of getting more votes during the election,” Madani said adding that the team will also implement the adopt-a- polling station’ strategy to guard its presidential votes.
Raila has expressed confidence of winning the presidency next month after failing in his 1997, 2007 and 2013 bids.
He has maintained that the opposition alliance has sealed all loopholes that Jubilee might use to rig him out.
