Heavy rains will continue throughout the week in different parts of the country but with reduced intensity, the Meteorological department has said.

Kenya Meteorological Department Deputy Director Samuel Mwangi said North Eastern counties of Garissa, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, and Isiolo will continue receiving rain this week.

Mr. Mwangi said counties in North Eastern which have been receiving heavy rainfall in the past few weeks, will continue to get morning rains and afternoon showers over a few places on Wednesday which will pave the way for sunny intervals from Thursday to Monday.

“The Coastal strip covering counties of Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale are expected to get morning showers over a few places from today up to Friday as well as on Monday while Saturday and Sunday mornings are expected to have showers over several places,” the forecast read.

Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu and Tharaka Nithi, counties are expected to have cloudy mornings with light rains.

Kitui, Makueni, Machakos and Taita-Taveta counties will have rains in the morning and afternoon showers over a few places throughout the week and into the following week.
