The Kenya metrological department has announced that the long awaited rains will start next week

The  rains are the most important as farmers plant during this season.

“We are not out of the woods yet, the distribution of March to May 2017 seasonal rainfall, both in time and space, is expected to be generally poor in most parts of the country,” Meteorological Department director Peter Ambenje said

“Sunny and dry weather conditions will be dominant in Northeastern and the Coastal regions during the month of March, but a pickup in rainfall is likely to occur in Western Kenya.”

Ambenje added that the rains are expected to end in May.
