Air pollution is a menace that not only affects industrialised countries but it also affects countries where the larger part is covered with forests.
This is because there are two main sources of air pollution. The first one is the smoke and dust that comes from heavy industries which are majorly located in urban areas and the second one is the smoke that comes from burning of charcoal that happens mainly in rural forested areas.
With influx of motor vehicles and motorcycles, the smoke that is released into the air is now too much, no wonder the effects of global warming is on the rise.
Now, how can the government reduce the number of vehicles from the road? It is simple. By raising the prices of lower priced models like Vitz which is within the reach of many.
This will not only reduce carbon emmission into the atmosphere but it will also reduce traffic congestion.
Raising levies on lower priced cars is therefore a welcome move.
