Kisumu City Residents’ Voice Association Chairman Audi Ogada has accused the county government of under defining the roles and duties of the recently appointed ward administrators.
Speaking to this writer, Ogada noted that ward administrators in the county have no defined roles by the county government, hence making them idle.
“A spot check in the two Nyalenda wards reveals that the ward administrators were appointed to be office assistants to the MCAs, this is not supposed to be the case,” noted Oganda.
Audi challenged Ranguma not to let the MCAs control the appointed ward administrators, since that is against the spirit of Kenya constitution.
“The administrators are in ward offices doing nothing as they don’t have any defined roles from the county government and this is where the county government is failing. Ward administrators are supposed to report directly to the governor,” said Ogada.
“You will never find governors controlling the county commissioners and that is where the central government beats the county governments,” added Ogada.
