A section of Kisumu MCAs has accused the county governor Jack Ranguma of under performance.

Lead by the House Minority Leader Edwin Anayo the MCAs noted that the residents have not felt the effects of devolution.

Speaking during a press conference on Tuesday at the County Assembly, Anayo accused the county government of failing to cater for the residents need.

Anayo said that most of the devolved functions has failed to take shape in Kisumu with the executive slowing down the implementation of most important bills by the county assembly.

Nominated MCA Lydia Odhiambo accused the county government of misplaced priorities.

She questioned why the ambulances that were purchased earlier this year by the county government were still parked at the county offices instead of being assigned to hospitals.

“What was the need of purchasing the ambulances if the residents cannot benefit from them? What is the need of having them parked at the county offices when they should be given to the public hospitals to help the patients?” wondered Odhiambo.

Nyalenda B MCA James Were also questioned why the purchase of graders by the county government were still not operational yet the county needed their services.

The legislators noted that devolution has failed in the county and blamed Governor Ranguma of being misled by his advisors at the expense of serving Kisumu residents.
