The Governor who is expected to face off with his former political-allies-turned-foe Senator Anyang' Nyong'o and his deputy Ruth Odinga is confident he will carry the day come August 2017.

His confidence got a face-lift after a recent study by Milesta Communications and Research company placed him ahead of Prof Nyong'o with a commanding 51 percent lead while the Senator came a distant second with 11 percent support in the lakeside county.

Speaking on Tuesday, Ranguma said the question of whether he will be reelected is not relevant as he was sure of winning the election.

According to the Governor, his development record speaks volumes about his capabilities to transform Kisumu into a modern-day city.

However, analysts says despite his bubbling over-confidence, he should not write off the threat that Nyong'o can pose considering that the Senator is one of the most seasoned politicians in the country.

It is reported that Prof Nyong'o is courting Ruth Odinga to be his running mate, and should the arrangement happen, then Ranguma will be forced to go back to the drawing board.
