ODM party members in Kisumu West Constituency said Ranguma has failed to actualize his promise months after the mass voter registration ended.

Kisumu West and Kisumu East Constituencies tied in number one with the high number of new registered voters and qualified for the offer promised by Ranguma.

Led by North West Kisumu ward representative Barker Ombogo, the party members wondered why the promise was made by the governor if he can’t actualize it.

Ombogo urged Mr Ranguma to give out the amount and divide it to the two constituencies who emerged winners.

“A promise is a debt and the governor must just give out the moment he promised,” he said.

Speaking at the ODM party office next to Kisian in the outskirts of Kisumu city on Wednesday, Ombogo said the promise by the governor was made public and he should honor it.

He said as a party, they intend to use the money to put up their own party building and continue propagating ideals and ideas of the party.

“We have plans to fulfill with that money, the sooner it is released the better,” he said.

Ranguma made the promise early this year during the burial of Mzee Odote Ojiem in Nyando constituency.
