A section of residents and politicians, among them gubernatorial aspirant Hezron Makobewa said the governor has acted irresponsibly by leaving his people in danger and going to Nairobi.

During the visit, Ranguma who was previously in Nairobi appearing before the Senate PAC team observed that the situation on the ground was grave and termed it a time bomb.

“This is bad for people to be crowded in a place like this, the government must address this issue once and for all,” he said.

Ranguma on his part faulted the national government for failing to contain the perennial border clashes that have continued to claim lives.

Ranguma however met criticism from Makobewa who decried the governor's delayed response to the situation.

Speaking to the press in Kisumu, Makobewa said failure of leaders to be with their people at crisis moments had made the people vulnerable.

“It shows no touch with the people. Four days, your people are being killed, being displaced and he is just in Nairobi. This is poor leadership, raw deal to the people of Kisumu,” he said.
