Speaking to journalists at his office, Ranguma said he was ready, and had even prepared the speech he was to read in the assembly, only to be informed that there was no quorum, adding that there was no reason for his attendance if there were no enough members.

He further said he instructed the assembly Speaker Anne Adul on phone, to inform him when the quorum was ready.

Ranguma also noted that he expected the speaker to adjourn the assembly, because other 37 MCAs had also skipped the session.

“I’m not happy with what transpired today at the assembly, and I think we can solve it as leaders,” he said.

Kisumu Central ODM Secretary Samuel Nyabinda, who was also present at the assembly, expressed disappointment by the Governor and the 37 MCAs to skip the event.

However, Speaker Anne Adul said in the house that they will not have another session to invite the governor to come and address them.

The speaker adjourned the assembly until next week, February 17.
