Ranguma said the national government cannot purport to supervise the work of county governments, further adding that the new constitution is very clear on how the national government will work with the county governments.

The Governor said the two governments are working based on consultation and cooperation, noting that the president overstepped his mandate.

Speaking during a funds drive at Muhoroni SDA church, Ranguma said the statement by the president is political.

However, he said any corruption case should be dealt with accordingly without favour or fear, adding that it’s the mandate of the different bodies that the national government has put in place who should do the job.

He urged the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission to take up the matter and take to court those who will be found culpable to the graft allegations facing individual Governors.

The funds drive convened by area MP Onyango Koyoo managed to raise Sh3.6 million for the completion of the church.

Koyoo on his part said that state sugar mills in the county that are set for privatization should be sold to local investors.
