Ranguma left the country on Saturday evening for Washington for the meeting convened by the World Bank.

In a communication sent through his communication office, Ranguma was invited to contribute and engage at the high level global meeting at the apex of global governance decision making.

"World's bilateral and multilateral leadership will be present to make global decisions on matters of SDGs and the Governor will be pleased to present the interest of Kisumu residents during the discussion," read the statement in part.

The Governor is expected to use the opportunity to woe investors to the county at a time when the Lake Front Development Project is picking up.

The UN Habitat-funded Lake Front Development is aimed at opening up the shores of Lake Victoria in promoting the city's infrastructural network.

Australia and China have since expressed interest in investing on the road and marine transport in the area, but Ranguma had indicated that the multi-billion investment still requires more financial input for it to achieve its desired goals.

The Governor will be away from the county for one week.
