Governor Jack Ranguma has been hailed for taking the initiative to take bodaboda riders for bench marking in Kigali, Rwanda.
South West Kisumu ward representative Joseph Abiola said the trip was informative.
Abiola faulted some elected leaders for spreading propaganda over the trip.
He said bodaboda cyclists got exposure and new ideas to run the sector that has employed hundreds of young people.
“The trip will eventually pay off, let those who went to Rwanda educate their colleagues so that we can start implementing those ideas,” he said.
Speaking to the press in Kisumu on Sunday at the Kisumu West Constituency ODM office, Abiola said electorate should be wary of leaders who are against initiatives aimed at empowering young people.
He told Ranguma not to be distracted by petty politics but continue changing the lives of locals through such initiatives.
Abiola said the electorate will be casting their vote in 2017 based on development that they have seen.
He further thanked the governor for the purchase of equipment that will be used for the expansion and upgrade of county roads.
Kisumu County Assembly Deputy Speaker Pamela Omino who was present took the opportunity to further castigate those who are out to divide the Luo community.
Ms Omino said the ‘alternative voice’ group has been funded to discredit ODM party leader Raila Odinga.
