Kisumu governor Jack Ranguma has said not a penny of county money has been used in trips overseas since he got elected.
Governor Ranguma said that the only trip he made to the USA with Cord leader Raila Odinga was funded by the county government.
"From the time you elected me, you have paid for my trip once. That was when I was accompanied by the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. It was the first trip I made as the governor of Kisumu," said Ranguma.
He added that he has donor supported trips that he has to account for because they are donor-funded.
Governor Ranguma was addressing civil society groups in Kisumu on Sunday where he said that investment in Kisumu is running to 38 percent and that most investments depend on donors and friends.
He said that revenue collection on average in Kisumu County in a good year is Sh550 million.
"We have collected Sh900 million. We are approaching 100 percent mark," he added.
