Governor Jack Ranguma has lauded devolution for improving access to healthcare in counties.
Speaking on Thursday in Meru during the third Annual Devolution Conference, the Mr Ranguma noted that despite the several hiccups witnessed in healthcare provision in the counties, much had been achieved.
"In my honest opinion, I think a lot has been realised in the health sector since the inception of devolution," he said.
"We have had a few challenges but it is evident that there is great improvement in health services in the counties."
Ranguma urged the national government through the Ministry of Health to increase support to the counties to improve the health sector.
"Increased support from the national government will bring a further boost to this important sector in the country's economy," he added.
The Kisumu governor moderated the discussion on the State of Health in the counties at the conference.
