Governor Jack Ranguma led Kisumu residents on Tuesday in calling for the disbandment of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
The governor, who joined residents of Kisumu in matching to the IEBC offices on Tuesday said there was need to disband the electoral body to avoid violence in 2017.
"We demand for an impartial referee. This morning, we the people of Kisumu county have sent a clear message that we do not have faith in IEBC," he said.
"As currently constituted, the electoral body cannot conduct free and fair polls. We therefore demand for its immediate disbandment."
Ranguma's calls come a day after the Cord principals led by Raila Odinga led a public demonstration in storming the IEBC headquarters demanding for the electoral body's dissolution.
