Governor Jack Ranguma has announced that he has spent the better part of the years since his election planning for the county.

Ranguma said his stint in office has seen him plan for the future of the county.

He said planning is a rigorous process that needs time to be able to come up with a plan that will take the county to greater heights in terms of development.

“I have been in office two years and 11 months, some people may think I have been there for five years, we have taken a lot of time planning what we think is good for the people of Kisumu,” he said.

Ranguma said he is determined to set up a stronger foundation on which the county will grow and support the future generation.

Speaking at Kisian on Tuesday when he presided over the grand opening of Crown Paints manufacturing plant, the Governor said that the people of Kisumu need to understand the pain it takes to plan.

He says that he has also been on the forefront to promote the lake region economic zone.

Ranguma said this is the only way to create a conducive environment for investors both locally and internationally.

“Lake region economic zone will help bring in manufacturing companies in the region,” he said.

He said that the public will only benefit if industries set up bases in the area and ultimately provide employment.

The area ward representative Joseph Abiola asked Crown Paints management to consider local youth in employment at the new plant located along Kisumu-Busia road.
