According to Ranguma, claims that he will ditch the party should he fail to clinch the party ticket is propaganda by his rivals who want to put him at loggerheads with the Raila Odinga-led party after nominations.

"I want to make it clear that I have no intentions to move out of ODM any time soon. This cheap propaganda being orchestrated by my opponents with the aim of gaining mileage," Ranguma said.

Ranguma who has a monumental task to defend his seat will square it out with other bigwigs including his fiercest rival senator Anyang' Nyong'o and Dr Hezron Mc'Obewa for the party ticket during party primaries slated for April 24.

Despite facing Nyong'o, a veteran in the country's politics, Ranguma is banking on his 'impressive' development record as a springboard to outsmart his bitter rival.

Already, Prof Nyong'o has teamed with Nyando MP Fred Outa who is an aspiring area senator to bankroll their political maneuvers.
