Kisumu County Governor Jack Ranguma has been challenged to transform Kisumu town to 24 hour economy.
A group of Members from the county assembly led by nominated MCA Farida Salim challenged the governor to improve security in the area by enhancing lighting system and initiating CCTV cameras.
The MCA said this will help to double the profits and income, hence boosting the county's economy.
“If we will become a twenty four hour economy we will maximise our profit. This is the only sure way to improve our economy,” notes Salim.
She further said the town lightings and security gadgets like CCTV camera should be installed to allow residents conduct their income generating activities freely.
Her sentiments was supported by Migosi MCA Paul Achayo who said that Kisumu town has a potential of doing better.
"Our town has a lot of unutilised resources and we need to utilise them so that we can grow our economy," notes Achayo.
Achayo further urged the governor to improve infrastructure in the town to woo investors in the county.
