Kisumu governor Jack Ranguma has exuded confidence in recapturing his seat during the forthcoming polls.
Speaking on Saturday, the County Chief maintained that he is the right man for the job, dismissing his rivals as 'unfit' to unseat him.
He further took issue with his archrival Senator Anyang' Nyong'o, noting that the lawmaker did not win the ODM Party ticket fairly.
Nyong'o beat Ranguma during the party primaries in an election that was widely contested.
“It’s unfortunate the same person who has been talking about democracy is the one who ran with votes to Thurdibuoro in Nyakach to announce the results. This was shaming the Luo community,” Ranguma noted.
Despite seeking re-election as an independent candidate, Ranguma reaffirmed his support for NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga, calling on the locals to back the former Prime Minister's bid.
“We don’t have a problem up there. Let’s all ensure we vote for Raila, but when we come at the county, vote for Ranguma,” he said.
