Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma has been asked to allow former CeC for Roads Eng Vincent Kodera to proceed to court to challenge his sacking.
The sacked executive had threatened to go to court over claims by Governor Ranguma Jack that his incompetence led to his sacking.
Speaking in Nyahera in Kisumu West Constituency on Sunday, Governor Ranguma defended the move to sack Kodera among other county executives, saying that he needed to propel the development agenda of the county.
Kisumu Senator Anyang Nyongo’s aide Babu Karan has defended the move by the sacked Executive to go to court, saying that it is his right to defend his integrity.
Speaking to our reporter today at the Kisumu Senate Office in Milimani, Babu asked critics of Eng. Kodera to let him prove his innocence.
“The move to go to court by Kodera is his social right to protect his integrity professionally. Whether the sacking was justified or not is a different matter altogether, and the governor should just let the courts to give a direction in such matters,” said Karan.
Kisumu City Residents Voice Association Chairman Audi Ogada also reiterated the same, saying that Kodera had all the rights to go to court since he had seen the completion of the construction of most roads in the town’s estates.
“Claiming that Kodera was inefficient is an abuse to his profession as he had seen the completion of most roads in estates such as Migosi, Manyatta and even Nyalenda,” said Ogada.
