Kisumu governor Jack Ranguma's move to vie as an independent candidate has been faulted by his deputy Ruth Odinga.
Odinga said the governor was wrong for profiling some parts of the county as remote.
She said she will back Senator Anyang’ Nyong’o in his bid for the Kisumu governorship.
On Thursday, Mr Ranguma said the ODM county returning officer erred when he declared Prof Nyong’o the winner.
“Thurdibuoro, where the results were declared, is located in a remote area, 70 kilometres from Kisumu Town,” the governor said.
However, Odinga questioned Ranguma sentiments over remote areas.
“How can you refer to part of your county as remote? This means you do not mean well for some parts of the county and therefore there is no need for you to ask for their votes.
