On Thursday, former Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma was dealt a blow by the Court of Appeal as it failed to overturn the High Court decision that declared Prof. Anyang Nyong'o as the winner of the August 8, 2017 election.
In his ruling, Justice Philip Waki said that the election of Prof. Nyong'o reflected the will of the people of Kisumu as Ranguma had failed to convince the court that the poll was marred by irregularities.
While reacting to the ruling, Ranguma said that he had tried his best to bring 'justice' to the people of Kisumu and that there is nothing more he can do even as he wished Nyong'o well.
He, however, hinted at appealing the ruling, adding that he was waiting for advice from his legal team.
“I am confident I won the elections and I have done my part as an individual to prove my case and to ensure the will of the people of Kisumu is respected,” Ranguma said as quoted by Nation.
"I have tried my best as an individual but the courts feel otherwise. I wish Nyong’o all the best. I am not sure I will appeal the case, but it is subject to the advice I will get from my legal team," he added.
